The email feature software company are corroborating MSNBC figures today that suggest 1 in 2 email users have had graphic sexual content sent to their work email, potentially putting millions of businesses worldwide at risk.

Exclaimer are an email signature software provider with 12 years’ experience and over 37 million users worldwide – but since launching Exclaimer Image Analyzer in 2009, they say they’ve found alarming levels of sexual content in corporate mail.

Exclaimer Image Analyzer scans the images in attachments for the shapes and colors found in pornographic content – the human form has a mathematically predictable shape and the software simply scans messages for the indecent use of it.
It works from an organization’s Microsoft Exchange server, and much like a transport rule or Exclaimer’s Exchange signature software, will apply its logic to any email that Exchange processes – and even use different levels of scrutiny for different organizational units or distribution groups.
“It means every email sent or received, even between internal contacts, is scanned for porn,” explained Chris Crawshay, Exclaimer’s chief information officer.
“In images, videos and even in Microsoft Office documents like Word or PowerPoint, Exclaimer Image Analyzer can see porn – and stop it.
“Whether it’s Outlook signature software or porn email detection, we try to give users a lot more from their mail.
